Cirque Millenium comes to the Port

10 November 2009

A death defying high wire walker, a hand balancer extraordinaire, acrobats, fast paced jugglers and aerial artists are just some of the sights set to thrill audiences next week when Cirque Millenium sets up its big top on the waterfront at Port Adelaide.

The circus, which includes a troupe of fifteen entertainers, will be performing at the Port in fourteen shows from November 13 to 29.

Port Adelaide will be one of the first places in Australia to see exciting new performances from the group which will feature both Australian and international artists from Argentina, France, Brazil, Venezuela and Germany.

Event organiser, the Port Partnership, said Cirque Millenium would provide a fantastic night of entertainment for the whole family and forms part of its 'place making' strategy to encourage events and activities in Port Adelaide.

"We're thrilled that Circus Millenium is bringing its show to the Port for the first time," said André Stuyt from the Port Partnership.

"The Circus is sure to provide a fantastic night of spectacular theatrical entertainment, with comedy acts, traditional tricks and exotic feats - it really is a show that will be enjoyed by all ages."

Cirque Millenium's colourful two hour live performance comprises a mixture of traditional and new style circus performances including the Trapeze, the Crazy Fun Jumping Rope, the Ninja Combat Fire, Acrobats, comedy Clowns and much, much more.

Formed only two years ago, Cirque Millenium has performed around Australia.

Cirque Millenium's big top will be located on the corner of St Vincent Street and Mundy Street, Port Adelaide.
